back to books my return to blogging

Hey everyone,

If you follow me on instagram, twitter or facebook then you’re aware I went on a social media break. That was broken a couple of weeks ago but I wanted a little more time away from the blog. That’s not because I lost my love for blogging, I just needed to let my mind rest and heal. A lot of things have happened over the past month during my absence that I needed to deal with. Writing was not my top priority.

However, I come bearing good news – well, it you like the blog it is. I’m officially back and ready give the lo-down on everything I’ve been reading. The lifestyle posts might take a backseat for a while as I have a backlog of reviews to catch up on.

Chances are if you’ve followed the blog for a while, you noticed a sudden surge of emotional posts for a few months. There were two intentions with those posts: helping myself to heal and letting others in that situation know they’re not alone. I want to reiterate the fact I had no petty or malicious intentions with them.

As I’ve said in the past, writing gives me an outlet and the blog gives me a place to express my feelings. Whether I’m ecstatic, defeated or any other emotion, this is my safe space to come to when I feel lost. When things take a sudden nosedive, I often need to reconnect with my sanity because it takes a lot to grapple with such intense emotions. Those posts will be staying on the blog should you want to read them. There’s no shame in saying you’re sad or that you need a shoulder to cry on. It’s the first step to admitting you need help. We all do at times.

Anyway, back to the point of this post – sorry, got a little sidetracked. I’m back and will be doing numerous book reviews over the coming weeks. I also have a shiny new instagram purely for my reading ventures – readingwithlucy_ – give it a follow if you’re interested.

Since I’ve been gone over the festive period, a very belated Happy New Year to you all. Thanks for sticking around.

Love,

  Luce xo
